Lake Ouachita High Water 2007
 

Lake Ouachita water level in January of 2007 started normal enough, right at the pool level of 578'. Then starting in the early hours of Saturday, Jan. 13 a front that had stalled out began to open its doors over the Lake Ouachita drainage area of 1105 sq. miles.

The big lady started doing her job, originally build for flood control she begin to drink up the run off. Holding the water in her massive confines and saving down stream homes and cities from devastating flooding.

These pictures were snapped on Jan.18 the day the Lake
 was forecast by the COE to crest.
