Beautiful Lake Ouachita is a Corp of Engineers island-filled Reservoir on the Ouachita River of 40,000 + acres. The Lake has major river and creek tributaries, abundant vegetation with an underwater forest. Eurasian milfoil and elodea now cover much of the lake’s shallow-water areas. Located in the Ouachita National Forest, the lake has virtually no shoreline development, which adds to its scenic appeal. The main river feeding the lake is the Ouachita River. Three other rivers, the South Fork in the Twin Creeks Area and the North Fork, East of Irons Fork Camp grounds, and the Irons Fork River.
